The United Nations has declared 2011 as the International Year of Chemistry (IYC) and the Brazosport ACS section is hosting a kick-off event at the Sea Center Texas on Saturday, March 26 in Lake Jackson. The ACS has established quarterly themes for IYC, and the Sea Center serves as our backdrop for the first quarter theme "Water in our World". We will be hosting a Science Cafe and discussing the importance of water as a natural resource, the science of water treatment, and the steps that are taken to bring clean water to residents of Southern Brazoria County.
The Brazosport ACS section invites you to the Sea Center Texas on March 26 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM to learn more or to participate. Visit the Brazosport ACS Facebook page for information on this event and for future quarterly events that celebrate the IYC.
